![]() ![]() ![]() If you define "one day" to mean "the amount of time between sunrises," then there is one sunrise per day by definition. ![]() On the surface of Kerbin, the Sun will rise multiple times per 24-hour period, yes. It just changes how you keep track of time in the game. Because Kerbin years are much shorter than Earth years. Or if you're playing with a life support mod and your ship has supplies for 4 years, then you better make sure you know if that's 4 Earth years (365 days * 24 hours * 60 minutes * 60 seconds) or Kerbin years (426 days * 6 hours * 60 minutes * 60 seconds). If you think you have Kerbin time on and aren't paying attention, then you'll launch 3 days late. If you have Earth time on then it means you need to launch in 1 day. If you decide to launch a rocket "in 24 hours" and you have Kerbin time on then it means you need to launch in 4 days. Of course it means that if YOU are making any calculations then you have to take the time difference into account. If you paused your game and switched to Earth time, the clock would display "1 day, 0 hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds." Note that exactly 21,600 seconds have passed (one 24-hour day). it means that 21,600 seconds have elapsed (four 6-hour days). If you're playing with Kerbin time on, and the clock says the mission time is "4 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds". If you have Earth time on, the next step is Yr 1 Day 1 6:00:00. If you have Kerbin time on, when the clock reaches "Yr 1 Day 1 5:59:59" (five hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds) the next step is "Yr 1 Day 2 0:00:00". The only thing affected is how time is displayed on the clock in the upper left corner of the game screen. This is unchanged by which time style you use. It's really just a matter of personal preference.Īt a point on Kerbin, the Sun rises every 21,600 seconds. There are no changes to gameplay mechanics.
